Quality check

Tested. Verified. Ready to perform.

Every used transmission is carefully inspected and tested before shipping.

We run six checks on every transmission. If it fails any one of them, we don't sell it — it never reaches your driveway.

Six checks · every one must pass

01Shift test

Every gear engaged and run through all ranges. Slipping, flaring or a hard shift and the transmission is rejected.

Must pass
02Fluid check

Fluid inspected for burnt smell, metal particles and clutch material — the first signs of internal wear.

Must pass
03Converter & lock-up

Torque converter engagement and lock-up verified on automatics; clutch engagement checked on manuals.

Must pass
04Leak & seal check

Case, pan, input and output seals and cooler ports inspected for cracks, weeping and prior repairs.

Must pass
05Inside inspection

Internals checked for wear, scoring and damage - planetaries, sprags, shafts and bearings.

Must pass
06Mileage check

True mileage confirmed and written onto the work order.

How every transmission is prepared

6 Checks Before Your Transmission Ships

Every transmission goes through our complete inspection process before shipping. Each unit is also tracked from testing to delivery, so you know exactly what you're getting.

01Step one

VIN-verified sourcing

Your 17-digit VIN tells us exactly which transmission your vehicle left the factory with — manufacturer, model, drivetrain, engine pairing, transmission code and model year. One model year can hide four different transmissions, so we decode all of it and match against live inventory before a unit is pulled.

VIN verified before your order is confirmed

  • Exact transmission variant and drivetrain (2WD / 4WD / AWD) matched
  • Transmission code and gear count confirmed against the factory record
  • Compatibility checked for your specific vehicle and engine
  • Fitment confirmed before the part is shipped
  • Verified by our team — no guesswork

We use your VIN to make sure you receive the correct part for your vehicle. It's one more step we take to give you confidence before you buy.

02Step two

Shift test & fluid check

A transmission can look clean on the outside and still be worn out inside. Testing it before teardown — while it still shifts under load — is how we tell the difference, and any unit that fails never reaches your quote.

  • Shift testEvery gear engaged and run through the ranges — checked for slip, flare and harsh engagement
  • FluidDrawn and inspected for burnt smell, metal particles and clutch material
  • ConverterTorque converter engagement and lock-up verified on automatics
  • Valve bodySolenoids and valve body checked for correct operation on automatics
  • SynchrosShift rails, forks and synchro engagement checked on manuals

Every check must pass before a transmission is cleared. Results travel with the unit on its work order, so you can ask for them at any time.

03Step three

Clean, inspect & fresh fluid

Grime hides cracks, weeping seals and casting damage. Cleaning isn't cosmetic — it's what makes a proper inspection possible, and it's why the photographs you approve actually show you something.

  • DegreaseOil, road grime and old sealant removed from the case, pan and bell housing
  • InspectCase, bell housing and pan checked for cracks and casting damage once clean
  • Seal checkInput, output and pan seals become visible only on a clean unit
  • Fresh fluidNew transmission fluid installed and the unit sealed before it's crated
  • PhotographShot on the pallet for your approval — the actual unit, never a stock image

A clean transmission is easier to install and easier to diagnose later. Your mechanic starts with a unit they can actually see.

04Step four

Your photo approval

This is the step that separates us from a salvage yard. Before your unit is crated, we photograph it properly and send the pictures to you. Nothing ships until you say it can.

  • PhotographedClear, detailed shots of the actual unit — never a stock image
  • Sent to youBy text or email, usually the same day the unit is cleared
  • You reviewTake your time, or forward them to your mechanic first
  • You approveOne reply and it ships. No reply and it stays on the dock
  • Not happy?Say so and we source another unit, or refund you in full

You are the last check before shipping — not the first person to find out something was wrong.

05Step five

Palletized & insured

A transmission is heavy, awkward and travels on a freight network built for pallets, not parcels. How it leaves our dock decides what condition it arrives in.

  • PalletMounted on a hardwood pallet sized for the unit, not a spare offcut
  • StrappedRatchet-strapped to the deck so nothing shifts in transit
  • WrappedProtected against weather and handling damage on the dock
  • LabelledOrder details and handling marks fixed to the pallet, not just the paperwork
  • InsuredCovered for the full order value from our dock to your address

If a shipment is damaged in transit, we file the carrier claim ourselves. That's our job, not yours.

06Step six

Specialist follow-through

Most suppliers go quiet the moment the freight leaves. One named person owns your order from the first quote to confirmed delivery — the same specialist, reachable directly, with your file in front of them.

  • One contactNo ticket queue, no repeating your VIN to a new person each time
  • Delivery confirmedWe check the unit arrived safely and on time, rather than assuming it did
  • Installer supportSpecs, torque figures or a call with a technician while your mechanic works
  • Warranty on fileYour order, invoice and inspection record stay on hand if you ever need them
  • Your feedbackWe ask how it went — and act on the answer

Support runs 24 hrs, Monday to Saturday. Call or text and you reach a person, not a script.

Common questions

Questions? We've Got Clear Answers.

Everything you need to know about compatibility, testing, warranty, shipping, and your order — so you can buy with confidence.

FitmentWhat if the transmission doesn't fit?

Every transmission is VIN-matched before it ships — we check the engin code, build date and trim, not just year, make and model. If a VIN-verified unit doesn't fit, we replace it or refund in full and cover the return freight.

InspectionDo I really see photos before it ships?

Yes, every time. The unit is pressure washed, palletized and photographed, and those photographs go to you for approval. If something looks wrong, say so and the shipment stops.

DeliveryHow long does delivery take?

Prep, testing and photography take 3–5 business days from your approval. Freight transit is typically 2–3 days on top of that, fully tracked door to door.

WarrantyWhat does the warranty cover?

6 months as standard from the delivery date, covering internal components. External accessories and consumables are excluded. Full terms are on the warranty page.

PricingIs shipping really free?

Free palletized freight to the lower 48, with no minimum order and no fuel surcharges. [CONFIRM residential liftgate, Alaska and Hawaii.]

TestingHow is each engine compression tested?

Every cylinder is tested with a calibrated gauge against OEM spec, and leak-down testing checks valve and ring seals. Only Grade A results are cleared to ship.
