Shipping Policy

Freight is on us.
Surprises aren't.

An engine weighs more than most people expect, and it travels on a freight truck — not a parcel van. This page tells you how long it takes to leave, how it arrives, what is already paid for, and the one thing you must do before you sign the driver's paperwork.

What's included — and what costs extra.

Every figure below is quoted to you in writing before you pay. Nothing on the right-hand column ever gets added to your card without you agreeing to it first.

In your price

  1. 01The freight itself. Standard freight delivery to any address in the 50 states — no fuel surcharge, no distance charge.
  2. 02Crating and strapping. Your unit ships bolted and banded to a heavy-duty wooden pallet, drained and plugged.
  3. 03Photos before it moves. Multi-angle photographs of the exact unit, sent for your approval before we release it.
  4. 04Commercial or terminal delivery. Drop at a shop, a yard with a forklift, or the freight terminal nearest you.
  5. 05Tracking and a delivery appointment. Carrier name, PRO number and a phone call to set your window.
  6. 06A human on the phone. If the carrier goes quiet, we chase them — you don't.
+

Quoted separately

  1. 01Residential delivery with a liftgate. A flat $100 if there's no forklift or dock at the address.
  2. 02Inside or garage placement. Drivers deliver to the curb only; anything past that is a separate service.
  3. 03Redelivery. If nobody is there for a booked appointment, the carrier charges to come back.
  4. 04Terminal storage. Free days are set by the carrier; after that, storage is billed per day.
  5. 05Address changes after pickup. Rerouting a moving shipment is a carrier fee, not ours.
  6. 06Alaska, Hawaii and export. We deliver free to a continental port or your forwarder; the ocean leg is yours.

Delivery day, in the right order.

Four steps, and the third one is the one that protects you. Once you sign a clean delivery receipt, the carrier's liability for visible damage is finished — so read it before you sign it.

01

Carrier calls you

The freight line phones the number on the order to book a window, usually a day or two out. Answer it — an unbooked shipment sits at the terminal.

02

Truck arrives

Delivery is curbside. Have a forklift, a few strong hands, or the liftgate service already on the order before the truck rolls up.

03

Inspect, then sign

Walk the pallet with the driver. Any crack, dent, oil, tilt or torn strapping gets written on the bill of lading before you sign — with photos.

04

Call us the same day

Send the photos and the noted receipt to our team. Damage claims filed this way are handled by us directly with the carrier.

The full policy — No Confusing Fine Print.

Eleven short sections. Freight has its own vocabulary, so anything unusual is explained where it appears.

01

Where we ship

We deliver used engines, transmissions and related assemblies to all 50 states, to commercial addresses, repair shops, residential addresses and freight terminals.

Alaska, Hawaii and international orders are delivered free to a continental US port or to the freight forwarder of your choice; the ocean or air leg beyond that point, plus any duties, is arranged and paid by you. We do not currently ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

02

Processing time

Orders are typically processed and released to a carrier within 3–5 business days of cleared payment. That window covers verification against your VIN, pulling the unit, draining fluids, testing where applicable, and crating.

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays. Orders placed on a weekend or holiday begin processing the next business day.

03

Photo approval before we ship

Nothing leaves without your eyes on it first. Once your unit is pulled, we email or text multi-angle photographs of that exact assembly — including tags, stampings and any cosmetic marks.

Ship or swap: reply and we release it, or tell us it isn't right and we keep looking. If we don't hear back, we hold the unit rather than guess.

04

How your order travels

Engines and transmissions ship by Freight — bolted to a pallet and carried on a freight truck alongside other shipments. They are far too heavy for UPS, FedEx Ground or USPS.

  • Bolted and banded to a heavy-duty wooden pallet
  • Fluids drained and openings plugged for transport
  • Shrink-wrapped, tagged with your order and PRO number
  • Small parts and accessories may ship separately by parcel
05

Transit time and tracking

Once the carrier collects your unit we send the carrier name, PRO number and tracking link within 48 hours. Typical transit is 3–7 business days depending on distance and terminal routing.

Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees. Weather, road closures, terminal backlogs and mechanical failures can add days, and no delivery date can be promised as a condition of sale.

06

Residential vs commercial delivery

Freight trucks are built to unload at a dock or to a forklift. If your address has neither, the shipment needs liftgate service — a hydraulic platform that lowers the pallet to the ground.

Residential delivery with liftgate is a flat $100, quoted and added before you pay. Tell us at the time of order: adding a liftgate after the truck is dispatched costs more and delays the delivery.

07

Your delivery appointment

The carrier calls the phone number on your order to schedule a window. Keep that number reachable — an appointment that can't be booked leaves your unit sitting at the terminal.

Someone aged 18 or over must be present to receive and sign. Drivers are not permitted to leave freight unattended, and they do not carry tools or help with installation.

08

Missed appointments and storage

If nobody is available for a booked delivery, the carrier returns the shipment to the terminal and bills a redelivery fee. Terminals also allow a limited number of free storage days — usually two or three — before daily storage charges begin.

These are carrier charges passed through at cost. We'll always tell you what's accruing and help you clear it fast.

09

Damage, shortages and how to protect yourself

Freight damage is rare, but when it happens the paperwork decides who pays. Inspect the pallet before the driver leaves. A signature on a clean delivery receipt is your confirmation that the shipment arrived intact — after that, a visible-damage claim becomes very difficult to win.

Visible damage

Write it on the bill of lading in the driver's presence — "crate crushed", "oil pan dented", "strapping cut". Photograph the pallet on the truck before it comes off.

Concealed damage

Found after unwrapping? Stop, photograph everything including the packaging, and contact us within 48 hours of delivery so the claim is still open.

Wrong or short

If the unit doesn't match your order or an accessory is missing, don't install anything. Call us with the tag numbers and we'll correct it.

Once a damaged unit has been installed, disassembled or modified, no carrier will pay the claim and no warranty applies to it. Report first, wrench second.

10

Address changes and refused shipments

Check your shipping address at checkout. We can change it free of charge before the unit is picked up; once it's moving, rerouting is a carrier fee billed to you.

A shipment refused without a documented reason is returned to origin at your cost, and the return freight plus any restocking fee is deducted from your refund.

11

Delays we can't control

We're responsible for getting your unit inspected, crated and onto a truck on time. Once it's with the carrier, severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, port congestion, accidents and government action are outside anyone's control.

Delays of that kind don't entitle you to cancel a shipped order, but we'll keep you updated and push the carrier daily until it's delivered.

Need it faster, or need it tracked? Just ask.

Liftgate questions, a terminal pickup instead of a home delivery, a shipment that's gone quiet, or a crate that arrived wrong — our shipping desk handles it directly with the carrier.
